The Places That Wouldn’t Stay Forgotten
Dream Fragment recorded: 8/28/2026
These memories won’t leave me alone I have to log them.
Dream Fragment 1 — Highway Loops / Fancy Mall / Wicker / Media Room
I’m driving on a highway I don’t recognize. I know I haven’t been on this highway before. It has a huge loop, possibly multiple loops.
Eventually I make it into this building. The building feels like some kind of fancy mall hybrid.
There is an area that reminds me of Crate & Barrel. There is wicker everywhere. Everything seems to be wicker.
There is also something like a food court, but it doesn’t look like any food court I’ve seen before. The food areas are tiny and separate. It reminds me more of Whole Foods, where different foods are sitting inside displays. Each little section has its own type of food displayed. People are sitting around eating like they would in a food court, but the entire place is really fucking fancy.
I go into a store or section inside this building. There are a bunch of things for sale. It’s almost like IKEA compressed into one room. There is bed stuff, house stuff, and seemingly everything you would need for a home, but everything is high up.
It also reminds me of Dillard’s somehow, except imagine Dillard’s being one room, and everything you needed was contained inside that room.
Then I go into another room.
This room has videos and CDs. It reminds me of Blockbuster, but it isn’t Blockbuster. There are videos, CDs, and all kinds of electronic/media stuff.
Dream Fragment 2 — Glass Grocery Store / Endless Aisles
I’m at a building that looks like a grocery store.
There is glass everywhere. The building is extremely glass-heavy and brightly lit with fluorescent lights.
I go inside.
The aisles seem eternal. They just keep going.
Someone else is in there with me, but I don’t remember who.
I’m shopping for something, but I don’t remember what.
The strange thing about the glass is that even though the building seems to be made almost entirely of glass, I can’t see outside when I’m inside.
But from outside the building, you can see inside.
It’s a grocery store full of glass where visibility seems to work in only one direction.
Dream Fragment 3 — Back Seat / Tall Buildings / Yellow-Orange Sky / Crying
I’m riding in a vehicle, but I’m not driving. I’m in the back seat.
I’m looking upward at all these extremely tall buildings.
The sky has a yellow-orange haze.
At some point I’m lying or curled up on something that feels like a lounge chair, couch, or some kind of reclining seat.
I’m in a fetal position.
I’m crying.
I don’t know whether I’m crying because I’m happy or because I’m sad. I only remember that I’m crying.
