THE PURSE I NEVER LOST

I parked a white rental vehicle at a small outlet area but later couldn’t find it.

Inside a restaurant that looked like a cafeteria I saw a celebrity owner.

Later I walked through a crowded food court where two men in gray suits seemed to follow me around.

I eventually reached the car rental desk to get another vehicle.

I realized my purse was missing and asked the staff if someone had turned in a wallet.

They brought out a wallet that belonged to someone else.

Then I noticed the strap across my chest and realized my purse had been on me the entire time.

I laughed.
