THE GIRL WHO WAS LYING

I was a guy looking for my girlfriend in a high school. I had never been to this school before. It was full of Black students and I was upset because another girl was lying about me and stalking me.

I even switched my phone to an old Blackberry to avoid her.

She told my girlfriend something that made her walk away. I needed to talk to my girlfriend and became so upset that I started crying. I asked the staff behind a glass panel if they had seen her.

One woman said she would help. She had blondish hair, not a wig, and asked for a description. I said my girlfriend was heavy set with a short hairstyle with some hair falling to the side.

The woman said she knew where she was and took me to a computer room. My girlfriend was there. I tried to explain that the stalker girl was lying. I showed her that I only had one phone with our numbers.

Then I got a message about beer and a video. She questioned it because she thought only we had each other’s numbers. I explained the video was for school and made her watch it. She realized then that I was telling the truth.

People around us celebrated. I fell and suddenly it felt like I was a girl again.

Then we went to a buffet for soul food. I grabbed turkey, collard greens, and cornbread, but the collards were long like paper and dripping wet. I spilled juice all over the floor. The person helping me got upset and said they told me they would get the greens.

I grabbed a towel and cleaned the mess and asked if they were really still mad about a human mistake. They smiled.

Then numbers appeared on a strange screen from numbers we played earlier. I remembered playing someone’s numbers and changing the Powerball and another number.

The lottery numbers appeared and I matched four but not the Powerball. It came out to $500. I asked what the Powerball number was and he said 9.
